Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Naubat Technologies S.L. ("Naubat", "we", "our") collects, uses and protects information from people who use the Naubat mobile application and associated services (together, the "Services").
We take privacy very seriously and process data responsibly, securely, and in compliance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and other applicable regulations.
By creating an account or using the Services, you accept this Privacy Policy.
1. Contact
The data controller is:
- Naubat Technologies S.L.
- Contact email: info@naubat.com
2. Data we collect
a) Data provided by the user
We only collect the information necessary to provide our services and improve how they work:
- Name.
- Email address: to create your account, identify you, and communicate with you.
- Vehicle data: make, model, and battery size (provided during registration or app setup).
- Postal address: in cases where test devices are shipped.
- Payment data: handled by third-party providers such as Stripe; Naubat does not store banking information.
b) Automatically collected data (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how users interact with our website. Google Analytics collects information such as:
- Pages visited
- Time spent
- Approximate location
- Device and browser type
- Actions performed on the website
This information is collected anonymously and used only for statistical purposes and website improvement. Google may use this data according to its own policies: https://policies.google.com/privacy
You can disable Google Analytics tracking using tools such as the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
c) Technical data
During app usage, vehicle and environment operation data is collected, such as:
- Vehicle parameters obtained through UDS/OBD-II protocols.
- Phone GPS coordinates and accelerometer data, to calculate trips and driving metrics.
- Vehicle identifier, date, and time of each record.
Data collection and upload only occur while the app is in "Collecting Data" mode. For this mode to work, the app must be connected to the dongle and the vehicle must be active (not switched off).
Naubat does not collect GPS data continuously. Even if location permission is enabled, it is requested so the app can run smoothly in the background when needed.
This data is linked to an internal identifier (userId), not to the email address, so Naubat does not directly associate technical data with the user's personal identity.
3. Data use and purpose
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Service delivery: showing users their metrics, trips, consumption, battery status, and other derived results.
- Maintenance and improvement: optimizing algorithm accuracy and user experience quality.
- Statistical analysis: producing aggregated reports on usage habits, driving patterns, or battery degradation.
- Product development and collaborations: generating aggregated statistics and data that may be used for research projects or commercial agreements.
- User communications: responding to inquiries, providing technical support, and coordinating tests or hardware shipments.
- Legal compliance and security: preventing abuse, ensuring service integrity, and meeting legal obligations.
4. Legal basis for processing
Data processing is carried out under the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract: necessary to provide the requested service (account creation, metrics display, support).
- Legitimate interest: to improve service quality, analyze aggregated data, or ensure technical security.
- Consent: when the user provides additional information (for example, by participating as a beta tester or accepting commercial communications).
Where applicable, consent may be withdrawn at any time by writing to info@naubat.com, without affecting app usage or the lawfulness of prior processing.
5. Who we share data with
Naubat does not sell, rent, or share identifiable personal data with third parties.
However, we may share fully anonymized or aggregated data (with no possibility of individual identification) with collaborating third parties or commercial partners, solely for analysis, research, or product development purposes.
To ensure service operation, we also use technology providers that process data on our behalf ("data processors"):
- Amazon Web Services.
- Hubspot.
- Holded.
- Mailerlite.
- And other similar services.
All of them provide appropriate GDPR compliance safeguards, including standard contractual clauses and secure international transfer mechanisms.
6. Data retention
Data is securely stored on AWS servers located in the European Union or in regions that provide an equivalent level of protection under the GDPR.
Personal data is retained while the account remains active or until the user requests deletion.
Anonymized technical data may be retained indefinitely for statistical, analytical, or research purposes, since it does not allow user identification.
All of them provide appropriate GDPR compliance safeguards, including standard contractual clauses and secure international transfer mechanisms.
7. Data security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including:
- Encrypted communications (HTTPS).
- Access and credential controls.
- Separate storage of personal and technical data.
- Backups and incident monitoring.
Although we apply strong security practices, no system is completely infallible. Using the app implies accepting this residual risk inherent to any digital communication.
8. User rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Request rectification or deletion of your data
- Object to processing
- Request restriction of processing
- Request data portability
To exercise your rights, you can write to info@naubat.com. Naubat will handle requests within the deadlines established by applicable law. If you believe your information has not been processed appropriately, you may file a complaint with your country's data protection authority.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in services, regulations, or our practices.
Updated versions will be published in the app or on the Naubat website.
Continued use of the Services after publication implies acceptance of the new policy.
